SL Now Playing and the SL Now Playing YouTube Bridge are designed to display information about media currently playing on the user’s computer in Second Life.
The YouTube Bridge operates within the user’s web browser and communicates with the SL Now Playing desktop application running locally on the user’s computer.
When the user plays content on YouTube, the browser extension may process information necessary for the functionality of SL Now Playing, including:
The extension accesses this information only on supported YouTube pages and only for the purpose of providing the SL Now Playing functionality.
The browser extension sends playback information to the SL Now Playing desktop application through a local connection on the user’s computer at 127.0.0.1.
This local communication is used to allow the desktop application to process the currently playing media information and provide the SL Now Playing service.
SL Now Playing does not intentionally collect personal identification information through the browser extension.
The extension does not collect passwords, payment information, health information, private communications, or authentication credentials.
The SL Now Playing YouTube Bridge does not use advertising trackers, analytics services, tracking cookies, or behavioral profiling.
Browsing activity on websites unrelated to the extension’s supported functionality is not collected.
SL Now Playing does not sell user data.
User data is not transferred to third parties for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to the functionality of SL Now Playing.
The browser extension does not maintain a remote database of the user’s YouTube playback activity.
Playback information processed by the extension is used to provide the requested functionality and is not retained by the extension as a browsing history.
The extension requests only browser permissions required to provide its functionality.
Access to YouTube pages is used to obtain current playback information. Access to the local address 127.0.0.1 is used to communicate with the SL Now Playing desktop application installed on the user’s computer.
